CAMBRIDGE, MA – Jimmy Tingle and Director Vincent Straggas are pleased to announce that JIMMY TINGLE’S AMERICAN DREAM, a tour de force of comedy, commentary and conversation with some of America’s most iconic personalities and social critics, as well as family, friends and total strangers as they speak up and speak out on the American Dream, has been accepted into the 11^th New Hampshire Film Festival.

A rare theatrical event, combining a screening, a Q&A with Jimmy, and a live performance featuring highlights from Jimmy’s newest one man show Jimmy Tingle for President: The Funniest Campaign in History.

As he weaves his stand up comedy career into the fabric of the American Dream, you’ll meet Oscar winners and comedians, historians and the homeless as he aspires to make us laugh, to make us think, and encourages us to dream.

Featuring the Interviews and opinions of Howard Zinn, Robert Altman, Mort Sahl, Janeane Garafalo, Sean Hannity, Lewis Black, Margery Eagan, Jim Braude, Bobcat Goldthwait, Sister Lena Divey, Al Franken, Robert Reich, Colin Quinn, Barry Crimmins, Jimmy’s mother Frances and more.

Music by Willie Nelson,The Mighty, Mighty Bosstones, The Neighborhoods, and Jimmy Tingle on harmonica.

The film has been a labor of love that took 7 years to get to the screen.  The movie was named best documentary at Independent Film Quarterly’s Film and New Media Festival in Los Angeles in February.  Jimmy Tingle will be present at the New Hampshire Film Festival screening.  Tingle Productions tapped Amy Greenlaw of new media marketing company, Film Pop! to make sure that fans feel like they are a part of community, keeping fans updated with contests, commentaries and more.

Jimmy Tingle’s American Dream will screen Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 1 pm at the Loft, 131 Congress St.  Jimmy will also be part of the “A Conversation on Comedy” Panel on Sunday October 16, 2011 2:30-4:30, joining Tommy Chong, Rae Dawn Chong, Justin McKinney, Adam Jones, TJ Miller and Jeff Tomsic.

The New Hampshire Film Festival takes place October 13-17 in Portsmouth, NH. Their mission is to support the art of film making and to present the best in recent independent cinema from the region, nation and world.

NHFF unites professional filmmakers and screenwriters with industry experts, students, educators, and film lovers for an inspiring, four-day celebration of independent film through panels, workshops, screenings, and networking events.
